This is a great lightweight replacement mic. It picks up sound well, no tin can or muffling, works perfectly with my VV-898 for whatever that's worth, PTT sturdy and resistive like a much more expensive mic. If you clicked on this mic cuz you like this style and thought it might be what you like for your radio, one click buy it. Definitely worth the short cost. No numbers, but that's what the original mic or cheap replacement with numbers is (are) for, right? I didn't like the DTMS mic that came with my radio. It was skinny, concave, very light, and seemed fragile/flimsy/like I was about to crush it into plastic powder. Saw this, I'm a cheapskate or frugal so that price really jumped out and put a ring on my finger. Pleasantly surprised. Has the look and feel of the classic mic with a modernization upgrade, in my opinion.
